Support Joe’s *spotfund Campaign: Here to Hear

Joe’s *spotfund campaign (kind of like GoFundMe but different) is live! Here is your chance to support the Joe Brotherton Quartet—featuring Joe (trumpet/vox), Obasi Akoto (bass), Colin Chambers (keys), and Tyler Leak (drums)—and the release of their new album, Here to Hear. This campaign will raise funds to print records (yes! actual LPs!), and an album-release party will follow in early 2024.

The campaign allows you to pick your tier and get a perk for your donation:

• $25 – A handwritten thank you from Joe
• $50 – The above plus your name on the record sleeve*
• $100 – All of the above plus a T-shirt*
• $500 – All of the above plus a copy of the record signed by all the band members*
• $1000 – All of the above plus VIP admission to the album release party (TBD)*

*You will get your name on the record sleeve if you contribute by Wednesday, September 27 (this is the deadline to get the album graphics to the printing press).

Thanks in advance for your support!

Coming Soon: Here to Hear

The Joe Brotherton Quartet debut album, Here to Hear, is finished! The record features Joe Brotherton (trumpet/vox), Obasi Akoto (bass), Colin Chambers (keys), and Tyler Leak (percussion), as well as special guests Elijah Easton and Elijah Jamal Balbed (tenor sax), and Flex Matthews (rhymes). Dani Corteza engineered the record, which the JB4 recorded at Intune Recording Studio in Adelphi, Maryland.

The official record release party will occur in early 2024 – check back for details.

Joe will launch a *spontfund campaign this fall to meet the demand for actual LPs to get printed. If you would like to donate, keep your eyes on this website and Joe’s social media for your chance to contribute to this upcoming project and be a part of DC jazz history!
